Immune System Page

At one time, I believed the immune system was something only medical professionals could understand. Today, I'm beginning to realize it's something I have to understand as well, if I want to have some control in retaining my health and well-being.

I've also learned that the immune system is very complex; however, there are simple rules I can follow to insure my immune system stays healthy. A principle rule is eating foods as low on the food chain as possible. This means purchasing organic foods as much as possible. Preparing them with as little preparation as possible with as low a temperature as practical.

All foods, no matter where they come from or how they are prepared, contain toxins and pathogens that are harmful to the body. The more processing used and the higher the cooking tempter used, the more extensive the contamination.

Controlling the ratio of raw foods versus processed foods and the degree of processing the foods receive is the most practical way I have of helping my body stay healthy.

The next consideration is stress. I've learned that periods of high stress can be a factor in weakening my immune system. When I don't have a way of controlling these periods of high stress and I fail to be careful with my diet, I will come down with a cold, aches and pains, and sometimes spend two or three days in bed.

I've experimented with several methodologies to this end with little success. Today, being reasonably consistent with my diet and using a form of energy psychology called emotional freedom therapy EFT. I no longer have this concern.

Which one of these items is the most important in my diet?

During the past twenty years, I've tried everything in working towards improving my health. At the same time, I've wanted to reduce the number of items on my list. It doesn't work for me. Each one of them contribute something to my overall health and well-being.

That does not mean you have to subscribe to this same list. Remember, we are all the same and we are all different. When you start to seriously work on improving your health and well-being, your body will help you in choosing what works. It will even help you in determining the quantity you need to take.
