Food Enzymes,
why do we need them?
Food Enzymes unlock the "Power Of Life" in the foods we eat.

There are three types of Enzymes:
METABOLIC ENZYMES - are produced by the body to work in the blood, tissues, and organs.
PANCREATIC ENZYMES - are produced by the body to break down food and absorb nutrients.
FOOD ENZYMES - are derived from raw food or from supplements.
Food enzymes work with the body’s pancreatic (digestive) enzymes; when we don't have an abundant supply, digestion is impaired. According to Dr. E. Howell, M.D. in his book, Enzyme Nutrition; "We all have a pancreatic enzyme bank account (this account varies widely from person to person) and the more processed foods we eat each day, the lower our bank account goes, until one day, we find it difficult to digest the food we eat." This can occur for some people in their early twenty's. The average age for most people is usually between thirty-five to forty. He also states that food enzymes taken as a supplement can be converted by the body into metabolic enzymes so there is really no waste when a person takes more than they require for proper digestion.
Bromelain and Papin: Plant enzymes that help with inflammation, joint pain, and stiffness.
Lipase: This enzyme is important for breaking down lipids (fats).
Amylase: Essential for breaking down carbohydrates/starches.
Protease: Can help with arthritis by improving digestion of protein.
Disaccharides: Helps to break down sugars
Cellulase is required to break down fiber in order to make it available to the body.
Finding the best combination of food enzymes for your diet can be a challenge because of the wide aray of products available. Almost all food enzyme products contain the most important enzymes needed for digestion.
