I personally have a long history of being angry. It accompanied me everywhere until I learned that my anger got its power from my fear of being unimportant, being perceived as stupid, being weak or cowardly... it's a long list. Anger, frustration, and rage often come from a deep sense of loss, disappointment, hurt feelings, and broken dreams. I do not believe anyone is qualified to judge the appropriateness of another person's anger. The feelings the person is experiencing are real and should be treated as such. In my experience, the secret to managing anger is to examine these feelings thoroughly and discover where the true source of the anger is seated (this is where an experienced therapist can be of signigicant value).
